Hi, I’m Spencer Emmons. I’m an undergraduate student at Arizona State University’s School of Earth and Space Exploration, working on a bachelors degree in astrophysics, with a minor in physics and a certificate in planetary science. I expect to finish this degree in May 2027 - though I already have an associate of science degree from Yavapai College and a certificate in Computer Aided Drafting/Design from the Regional Occupational Program in Camarillo, California.
I do research with Dr. Rogier Windhorst’s cosmology research group at ASU - currently using JWST images to study star formation and quenching at cosmic noon. I have also contributed to projects relating to planetary science and astrobiology in the past. I work as an undergraduate TA for the lab portions of ASU’s Intro Astronomy for Non-Majors (AST 111 and AST 112).
Outside of science I sometimes make silly python programs for fun, read books, and make and play games.
